Puzzle: another hint

Last month I set the following puzzle. Here is a sequence of 11 consecutive instances of ‘had’: had had had had had had had had had had had

Can you punctuate this sequence to turn it into a perfectly valid English text?

Last week, I gave this hint: John and Tom had each written a sentence for their teacher, who had approved of John’s sentence.

Here is another hint. The punctuation you will need includes some quotation marks. You will also need at least one full stop, and any instance of had following a full stop will need to be written as Had with an initial capital.

Can you see how to do it? I’ll post the answer on 21 May.
